<p>
 Airbnb announced a ,000 insurance policy and the formation of a 24/7 customer support hotline Monday after two users recently stated their use of the company’s travel services had left them the victims of vandalism and theft.
</p>
<p>
 Up to this point, Airbnb — a website that connects travelers with people who are willing to host travelers — had been on a hot streak: It had landed high-profile celebrity and tech investor Ashton Kutcher as an advisor, as well as a funding round of 2 million, which valued the company at .3 billion.
</p>
<p>
 In June, an San Francisco Airbnb individual identifying herself as E.J. stated on her individualized blog that a mortal who rented her apartment on the website had trashed her home and stolen her jewelry, some cash and electronics, among other things. E.J. followed up that post with one Thursday accusing Airbnb of trying to get her to remove her original blog post as well as neglecting to help her recover from the “nightmare” of a situation.
</p>
<p>
 Another Airbnb user, Troy Dayton, told the website TechCrunch that he too had his home vandalized by someone who had rented his apartment through the service and that he’d come home to find “meth pipes everywhere.”
</p>
<p>
 After a back-and-forth between TechCrunch and investors in Airbnb, Chief Executive Brian Chesky wrote a blog post Monday saying his San Francisco start-up hadn’t handled its users’ situations correctly and was looking to make things right.
</p>
<p>
 “Last month, the home of a San Francisco host titled EJ was tragically vandalized by a guest,” Chesky said. “The alteration was so bad that her life was turned upside down. When we learned of this our hearts sank. We felt paralyzed, and over the last four weeks, we have really screwed things up.”
</p>
<p>
 The CEO apologized for Airbnb’s mistakes and stated the last few days have given the company a “crash course in crisis management.”
</p>
<p>
 Chesky stated that Airbnb is working with the San Francisco Police Department to set things straight for E.J. and that a suspect is in custody.
</p>
<p>
 “I hope this can be a valuable lesson to other businesses about what not to do in a time of crisis,” he said. “With regards to EJ, we let her down, and for that we are very sorry. We should have responded faster, communicated more sensitively, and taken more decisive action to make sure she felt innocuous and secure. But we weren’t prepared for the crisis and we dropped the ball. Now we’re dealing with the consequences.”
</p>
<p>
 In an attempt to “make it right,” Chesky stated Airbnb would launch its ,000 Airbnb Guarantee on Aug. 15, which it states will wage up to ,000 in insurance for any loss or restitution at the property of an Airbnb “host” by someone who prefabricated their reservations through the company’s website.
</p>
<p>
 Next week, the site will launch a 24/7 hotline for its users to report any problems with its service or to complain about other users, he said. If an Airbnb individual can’t reach anyone when they need to, Chesky stated he’d be reachable by email at brian.chesky@airbnb.com.
</p>
<p>
 “We will extend this program to E.J. and any other hosts who might have reported such property alteration while renting on Airbnb in the past,” he said.

<p>
 CytoTune(TM)-iPS Reprogramming Kit can accelerate research using cells programmed to serve as models for human disease.
</p>
<p>
 CARLSBAD, Calif., June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — Life Technologies Corporation this day announced the launch of CytoTune(TM)-iPS Reprogramming Kit — research technology that provides far improved efficiency over standard methods to develop induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from human somatic cells. The capability to more easily create larger numbers of these embryonic stem cell-like cells can expedite basic research and studies that target specific diseases.
</p>
<p>
 Widely accepted methods for turning adult skin cells, for example, into iPSCs involve benign virus vectors that are used to deliver reprogramming genes. The process, however, is woefully inefficient (reprogramming efficiency rates for standard methods range between 0.00001-0.01 percent) and runs the risk of leading to unwanted mutations since the vectors must insert themselves into the host cell’s DNA – essentially altering the genome and leaving “footprints.”
</p>
<p>
 The CytoTune(TM)-iPS Reprogramming Kit is based on zero-footprint technology that employs an RNA virus developed by the Asian firm DNAVEC Corporation. The benign vectors effectively do their job without DNA integration and can generate iPSCs with about 1 percent efficiency.
</p>
<p>
 “This technology is the most successful method my work has used to generate iPSCs,” stated Keiichi Fukuda, Ph.D., M.D. Professor and Chief, Department of Cardiology, and Vice Dean at the Keio University School of Medicine, whose research team demonstrated the effectiveness of CytoTune’s RNA vector in a study published in the journal Cell Stem Cell. “Considering the high efficiency of iPSC generation and absence of integration of the vectors into the host genome, this method is definitely the most powerful tool acquirable for transgene-free iPSC induction and will have an enormous impact on the future direction of many fields utilizing iPSCs.”
</p>
<p>
 Efficient development of footprint-free iPSCs provides highly sought-after advantages for the basic research field. Scientists who test existing or novel drugs in the hopes of treating specific diseases will now have quicker access to patient-derived cells that are physiologically accurate because they won’t contain mutations that could be introduced during reprogramming. The use of iPSCs as disease models was the subject of a study on Schizophrenia published April 14, 2011 in the journal Nature and of other current studies.
</p>
<p>
 The expediency of the kit’s technology will also enable scientists to accelerate the number of experiments they can perform apiece week using iPSCs, a growing research field that circumvents the ethical concerns associated with embryonic stem cells because iPSCs are derived from adult tissues such as skin fibroblasts.
</p>
<p>
 CytoTune(TM)-iPS Reprogramming Kit is part of Life Technologies’ broader set of products, including KnockOut(TM) Serum Replacement and Gibco® B-27® Supplement, among others, used in laboratories worldwide to grow, characterize and study iPSCs.
</p>
<p>
 “The launch of this product fulfills a growing demand from our customers who have voiced their need for technology that provides the combined benefits of higher reprogramming efficiency with a zero footprint iPSCs,” states Christopher Armstrong, Head of Primary &amp; Stem Cells at Life Technologies. “CytoTune(TM)-iPS Reprogramming Kit complements our extensive portfolio of stem cell research tools.”
</p>
<p>
 Life Technologies will be hosting several speaks and poster sessions on its stem cell technology during the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) 9th Annual Meeting, June 15-18 in Toronto, Canada. More information can be obtained at the Life Technologies booth (#626) during the show.

<p>
 The hacking group known as LulzSec shows no signs of slowing down. Early on Wednesday, the group announced that it had taken offline Brazil’s official government website, as well as the Brazilian president’s website. As of Wednesday afternoon, both sites still appeared to be unreachable.
</p>
<p>
 LulzSec’s activities and taunts come despite the arrest of a 19-year-old hacking suspect on Tuesday, outside London, who was reportedly involved in the group. “Seems the glorious leader of LulzSec got arrested, it’s all over now… wait… we’re all still here! Which poor bastard did they take down?” stated LulzSec via Twitter.
</p>
<p>
 We spoke with Chris Sather, Product Management for Network Defense at McAfee about McAfee’s next generation firewalls that examine relationships and not protocols.
</p>
<p>
 LulzSec stated the mortal arrested by British police, titled by authorities on Wednesday as Ryan Cleary, ran a server on which one of LulzSec’s many chat rooms had been hosted. “Clearly the UK police are so desperate to catch us that they’ve gone and arrested someone who is, at best, mildly associated with us. Lame,” stated the group via Twitter.
</p>
<p>
 On Wednesday, British police charged Cleary on multiple counts, including an October 2010 distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack against the British Phonographic Industry website, and Monday’s botnet-driven DDoS attack against the UK’s Serious Organized Crime Bureau (SOCA) website. That attack occurred under the #AntiSec banner, which is a LulzSec’s joint
</p>
<p>
 In the United States, meanwhile, an unnamed government official told The New York Times that a Tuesday raid against a data center in Reston, Va., run by DigitalOne, was in motion of information related to LulzSec and its affiliates, even though the company whose information was targeted wasn’t named. In the raid, FBI agents apparently seized hardware running multiple, hosted websites, knocking the others–not targeted in the investigation–offline.
</p>
<p>
 Sergej Ostroumow, DigitalOne’s chief executive, stated in an email to customers that “tens of clients” had been affected, saying that “after F.B.I.’s unprofessional ‘work’ we can not restart our own servers, that’s why our Web site is offline and support doesn’t work.” The company, which leases space from the data center’s operator and had no employees onsite, hoped to bring the offline sites back up by Wednesday.
</p>
<p>
 The FBI wasn’t acquirable for immediate comment.
</p>
<p>
 If authorities are closing in on LulzSec, the group doesn’t appear to be backing off. On Wednesday, the group released, via Pastebin, contact information for what it stated were two people who tried to snitch on LulzSec by “leaking some of our affiliates’ logs.” LulzSec alleged that the two people–named as Marshal Webb and Michael Dean Major–had orchestrated last month’s grapple and defacement of the Eidos Montreal website. In that attack, hackers reportedly stole information on at least 80,000 users of the company’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution game.
</p>
<p>
 LulzSec also warned that there had been a rash of Pastebin posts purposing to be from the group, such as the declaration that LulzSec planned to release a complete copy of the U.K. 2011 census data. “That wasn’t us–don’t believe imitation LulzSec releases unless we place out a tweet first,” the group stated via its Twitter feed.
</p>
<p>
 Are law enforcement agencies close to unmasking LulzSec? While British police did bust Cleary, aka “ViraL,” he had already been publicly named–in anonymous Pastebin posts released last month–as someone who interacted with LulzSec members via IRC. Some posts also alleged that he was a “4chan DDoS attacker,” referring to the freewheeling 4chan forum and imageboard in which all members are supposed to be anonymous.
</p>
<p>
 Cleary was also mentioned in multiple tweets early this month from Twitter individual Power2All. Those messages warned LulzSec via Twitter to “avoid and ignore lulzco IRC net, your IP will be compromised by Ryan Cleary.” According to Power2All, Cleary’s server logged IP addresses and leaked them to the Internet.
</p>
<p>
 In the wake of Tuesday’s arrest of Cleary, a post on the anti-LulzSec blog “LulzSec Exposed” also stated that Cleary was “just an IRC operator” for LulzSec, and that the group’s leader went by the handle of Sabu. It also stated that the arrest of Cleary would give law enforcement agencies a leg up on LulzSec. “Bad news for LulzSec, count your days as we count your heads,” stated a blog post on LulzSec Exposed. “As Ryan is arrested, your IRC irc.lulzco.org logs are with FBI, SOCA and Interpol.”
</p>
<p>
 The group also alleged that LulzSec members, having been exposed, were starting to flee, and that the group’s joint operations with Anonymous are a ploy to keep the LulzSec brand going. “They also want to keep the legacy of Lulzsec even after their arrests by recruiting new people … to continue it and create havoc among security companies.”
</p>
<p>
 Also on Wednesday, LulzSec Exposed titled Power2All, the admin for the Anonymous IRC channel (Anonops), as Netherlands-based PHP programmer Jasper Lingers. But a message via the Power2All Twitter feed fired back, “I am not lulzsec, neither anonymous. AnonOps is a platform to chat on … Nothing illegal about a chat server.”

<p>
A new rumor claims Apple is readying an iOS-powered connected TV, possibly for release as primeval as this fall.<br />
A former Apple executive, talking anonymously, stated the company plans to “blow Netflix and all those other guys away” by bundling Apple television + iTunes inside a physical display, DailyTech reports. Apple is reportedly teaming up with a major supplier to wage the rebranded television sets, the source noted.</p>
<p>When questioned why an OEM would cut into its income by providing Apple with units, the source said, “If you have to be competing with somebody, you want to be competing with yourself.”</p>
<p>The tipster indicated a planned start launch, while noting that the product could get pushed to next year because of Apple’s “high standards.” A start launch could coincide with the launch of the next-generation iPhone, as well as iOS 5 and iCloud.</p>
<p>“You’ll go into an Apple retail store and be healthy to achievement out with a TV. It’s perfect,” the source said. According to the unverified report, the iOS-driven televisions would support third-party apps.</p>
<p>Rumors of an Apple Smart television have existed for years, with Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster repeatedly forecasting the product. Munster has recommended that an Internet-connected television from Apple might have a starting price in the range of ,000.</p>
<p>In March, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty stated Asian suppliers had told her Apple had built a Smart television prototype. According to Huberty, an Apple-branded television could add as much as billion per 1 percent share of the television market Apple is healthy to capture over the next two years.</p>
<p>Then, in April, Brian White with Ticonderoga Securities stated “data points” from a China electronics trade show recommended Apple could launch an HDTV set possibly by the end of the year. “Our research recommends this Smart television would go well beyond the miniature second-generation Apple television that the company released last start and wage a full-blown television product for consumers,” White said.</p>
<p>Though Apple CEO Steve Jobs stated last year that the Apple television set top box product is “a hobby” for the company, income of the second-generation model have improved over the first-generation. After the company sold 250,000 units in the first six weeks of availability, Jobs stated Apple was “thrilled” with the figures.</p>
<p>Apple went on to sell 1 million Apple televisions within three months of the device’s launch. However, analysts have estimated that a million units per quarter would amount to a “fairly immaterial” 0 million in annual revenue.</p>
<p>Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of Concord Securities stated in April that Apple television income had reached 2 million, reportedly selling 820,000 units in the March quarter.</p>

<p>A current survey has revealed that more than a quarter of roads in Switzerland’s main business conglomeration are clogged, putting metropolis in 16th place in the list of most congested cities.</p>
<p>The survey by Dutch navigation system maker TomTom comes days after a critical report in the New York Times accusing metropolis of “working overtime in current years to torment drivers”.</p>
<p>The article reports that traffic lights are programmed to favour trams while pedestrian crossings have been moved from underground passages to street level.</p>
<p>The TomTom analysis found that daytime traffic on 27.4 per cent of metropolis city’s streets was forced to travel less than 70 per cent as fast as during the night when roads are less busy. Brussels came out worst in the report with almost 40 per cent of its streets congested.</p>
<p>
Angry pedestrians</p>
<p>Pio Marzolini from Zurich’s civil engineering department told swissinfo.ch that the authorities had prefabricated a decision to share out the limited space in the city more equitably.</p>
<p>“Most cities place automobiles first, but in metropolis we give equal rights to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport,” he said. “We do not want to create traffic jams, but tram users and pedestrians also get angry when they get delayed.”</p>
<p>Marzolini added that inhabitants of metropolis city supported the policy – unlike commuters – and that good public transport links had encouraged more people to relinquish their cars. In the last decade, the percentage of households without a automobile in the city has increased from 40 to 45 per cent.</p>
<p>“It is no good just telling people to give up their cars, we have to wage them with a good substitute too,” he said.</p>
<p>The policy is bound to please environmentalists who three years ago launched a campaign to reduce automobile congestion in five of Switzerland’s largest cities.</p>
<p>
More bypasses needed</p>
<p>Zurich even toyed with the intent of introducing a congestion charge for cars driving in the city, but the city council shelved the project because it lacked enough political support.</p>
<p>However, motor automobile associations are less than happy with the situation in Zurich. Reto Cavegn, director of the Touring Club of Switzerland’s (TCS) metropolis chapter, told swissinfo.ch that, unlike for pedestrians and trams, the city had no clear policy for automobile transport.</p>
<p>He argued that road congestion is critical throughout the canton of metropolis and not just in the city. Cavegn ordered the blame on a demand of construction projects that could take traffic away from the city and other built up areas.</p>
<p>The Uetliberg tunnel was opened in 2009 to improve traffic access to central Switzerland from the south of Zurich. But Cavegn believes that there should be more such outlets and that existing bypasses, such as the notoriously congested Gubrist tunnel, should be upgraded.</p>
<p>“Nothing is being done for automobile drivers,” he told swissinfo.ch. “As long as cars demand clear routes away from the city then we will have too much traffic there.”</p>
<p>TCS estimates that traffic jams cost the canton of Zurich’s economy SFr100 million (8 million) a year as commuters are late for work or deliveries are delayed.</p>
<p>
Intelligent traffic lights</p>
<p>Dirk Helbing, a professor of sociology at Zurich’s Federal Institute of Technology, claims to have the answer to all these problems. Together with colleagues at Dresden’s University of Technology, Helbing has developed an intelligent traffic light system that he claims could reduce traffic inactivity time by up to 30 per cent.</p>
<p>Using sensors and wireless technology, this system monitors the amount of cars on the roads and superior coordinates traffic flow by having traffic lights “talk” to one another before changing from green to red.</p>
<p>This system would adapt to changes in traffic flow rather than the present rigid method of programming lights to change at fixed times according to the time of day.</p>
<p>“This is a more flexible approach that responds to actual traffic flow and provides superior performance,” Helbing told swissinfo.ch. “It would not be very costly to install because the wireless technology can be adapted to existing systems and does not require roads to be torn up.”</p>
<p>The system would also discern buses and trams and be healthy to give them priority, Helbing added. Pedestrians and cyclists would also benefit by breaking traffic into smaller blocks, giving more space to others using the road or wishing to cross over, he said.</p>

 George Hotz, well-known iPhone and Sony PS3 hacker, is following in the footsteps of many other celebrated hackers who got hired by technology giants. Hotz, also known as GeoHotz, has joined Facebook and is stated to be involved in product development. Hotz’s Facebook page states he has been a software engineer at Facebook since Might 9.

<p>
 It seems hackers love to be on the payrolls, really. It has been reported that one in for online hackers in the US are on the government payrolls. There have been cases of some hackers being hired by the tech companies they hacked into. And some are hired by firms to torment competition. Earlier, Facebook profile coder Chris Putnam, iOS coder Peter Hajas, Twitter coder Michael Mooney, and Ashley Towns, the creator of the first ever iPhone worm, had all prefabricated news after they got into the corporate scene, leaving behind the intriguing world of hacking.
</p>
<p>
 It has been reported that the change in Hotz’s job profile became a matter of speculation in the hacking community when he allegedly backed off a challenge with Joshua Hill for hacking iPad 2. The sudden transition of GeoHotz from the treacherous world of hacking to a regular job with one of the best-known World wide web companies of the day has come crossways as a surprise. It was only in April that he settled an acrimonious effort with Sony, following his multiple hacks of the PlayStation 3. George Hotz had shot into fame as a teen hacking sensation when he cracked iPhone. He then unleashed his wizardry by breaking open the Sony PlayStation 3, and then forced Sony to move court to obtain restraining orders preventing him from releasing the latest jailbreak on PS3. Hotz’ first 15 minutes of fame came at the age of 17 when he cracked open the iPhone, a device which caught the imagination of the world. He immediately became a pin-up boy attracting rock star fan following. When he unlocked the iPhone bootloader in August 2008, Apple’s storied device could be used on any network, not just AT&amp;T, its exclusive seller. Hotz’ accomplishment was basically a hardware coup; his modus operandi just involved some soldering and hardware modification. CertiCell, a cell phone modification company, hired him besides giving away a swanky Nissan 350Z sports automobile and 3 iPhones as the price of his unlocked iPhone. After hacking the iPhone, he unleashed a jailbreak titled Blackra1n for all iPhones and iPod Touches. Hotz set up a website for limera1n, his jailbreak software, in March 2010. He announced on July 2010 that he was healthy to jailbreak an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0 but in the same month he stated he was retiring from the business of hacking ‘iDevices’. He stated his hacking escapades were rather meant to be distractions and they were not being seen any longer as just fun. Hotz stated in late 2009 that he was targeting PS3. He stated in Jan 2010 he was healthy to grapple the organisation and acquire read and write access and released the jailbreak for the public. He released his jailbreak to public in Jan 2010, enabling any one to grapple into the system using the “OtherOS” function in the system. This forced Sony to withdraw the OtherOS function from the organisation which was required for running the hacked code. Sony did this by releasing a PlayStation 3 firmware update which removes the OtherOS function. Sony has since then fortified PS3 with the addition of advanced custom firmware. Hotz stated in July 2010 that he was abandoning his further attempts to grapple the PS3, but resurfaced primeval this year showing demonstrations of running homebrew applications on PS3 firmware 3.55, raising alarm at Sony. In April, Sony and GeoHotz reached a settlement in their months-long legal battle. The settlement enjoined Hotz from reverse engineering any Sony product, or using any tools, hardware or software to get around the authentication systems. Nor was he granted to distribute any information, tools or software that would grant anyone else to do the same thing. If he violates the order then he will be fined ,000 for apiece violation. George Francis Hotz was born on October 2, 1989 and grew up in Glen Rock, New Jersey, where he attended the Bergen County Academies. The curly-haired child prodigy has stated he wanted to get into neuroscience, and go ‘hacking the brain’.

<p><strong>Take Advantage Of A Balance Transfer Credit Card</strong></p>
<p>
                                   The first thing you want to do is to choose the type of card that is just right for you. Whether it be an air miles card, or a driver&#8217;s credit card, or a rewards card, or even a business credit card, you should choose which one will give you the greatest advantage. You can determine this by looking for the largest amount or type of buys you make apiece month.</p>
<p>
                         Once that is done, you want to begin looking at the equilibrise transfer options and compare them. You need to look at more than just to see if it states there is a 0% APR interest rate on equilibrise transfers. All equilibrise transfer options on different credit cards are not equal. Some will charge you as much as four percent of the transferred amount &#8211; even if there is 0% APR interest! Many equilibrise transfer credit cards will not charge you to do this, so look around and find one that will not.</p>
<p>
                        Balance transfer credit cards also have different lengths of time for the amount transferred that you can get the 0% APR interest. Some will give you that rate for only three months, but will grant you to have 0% APR interest on all your new buys for a year or longer. Other credit cards (the ideal ones) will give you that great interest rate until it is paid off &#8211; an unbeatable feature on the ideal cards. If you can get this, and you have balances on other credit cards, this is the way to go. &lt;</p>
<p>
                          Another thing that you want to watch for is just how long a time period do you have to be healthy to place existing debt on your new equilibrise transfer credit card. It is very important that you find out about this because many cards will only grant you to use this feature when you apply for the card. You literally have to fill in the amount of all transfers, and the card information, when you apply. Transfers, on some cards, can't be prefabricated after that.</p>
<p>
                       Finally, as with any credit card offer, be sure that you also look at the interest rate. It will eventually be the rate you will be paying if you have outstanding balances. Get as low of an interest rate as possible, or, apply for a new equilibrise transfer credit card before the introductory period on this card expires &#8211; especially if you still have outstanding debt. However, instead of fully charging up the old card when you make the transfers, be sure to destroy the old card and reduce your debt altogether &#8211; that way you are sure to get the ideal savings.

<p>
 Reporting from Washington—
</p>
<p>
 A leading senator, angry that Facebook Inc. unsuccessful to stop millions of preteens from using its social networking site, accused co-founder Mark Zuckerberg of absent “social values” and being more concerned with building the company than with children’s privacy.
</p>
<p>
 “It’s my general feeling that people who are 20, 21, 22 years old really don’t have any social values at this point,” Senate Commerce Committee Chairman John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.) told another top Facebook executive at a hearing Thursday.
</p>
<p>
 “I think he was focused on how the business model would work,” Rockefeller stated about Zuckerberg, who was a 19-year-old Harvard student when he created Facebook in 2004. “He wanted to make it larger and faster and superior than anybody else ever had.”
</p>
<p>
 The company’s policy requires users to be at least 13, a move designed to refrain federal regulations for websites used by young children. But a current Consumer Reports survey found that about 7.5 million active Facebook users were younger than 13.
</p>
<p>
 Rockefeller’s comments came as a Facebook executive for the first time came under congressional quizzing in a current round of hearings about concerns that technology companies are not protecting individualized privacy. Executives from Apple Inc. and Google Inc., which sent witnesses to a hearing last week, also appeared at Thursday’s hearing before a Commerce subcommittee.
</p>
<p>
 Rockefeller, a key player on technology issues, and other lawmakers are considering new regulations to protect online privacy, particularly for children. The issue has gained momentum with the current revelation that an fog file on iPhones and iPads could store thousands of detailed records of a user’s whereabouts.
</p>
<p>
 Rockefeller stated he was recently told by Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg that the company has only 100 people monitoring the posts and other activities of about 600 million users.
</p>
<p>
 “My reaction to that is that’s just totally indefensible,” Rockefeller told Facebook Chief Technology Officer Bret Taylor, saying he was worried about children being targeted by sexual predators and online bullies. “I want you to defend your company here because I don’t know how you can.”
</p>
<p>
 Taylor stated Facebook shuts down the accounts of people found to be lying about their age to refrain the company’s restriction.
</p>
<p>
 “We don’t grant people to misrepresent their age,” Taylor said.
</p>
<p>
 But he admitted Facebook depended on other users to report such violations to enforce the policy.
</p>
<p>
 The under-age problem at Facebook showed that huge technology companies have not prefabricated privacy a top priority, stated Amy Guggenheim Shenkan, president of Common Sense Media, a nonprofit children and family advocacy group.
</p>
<p>
 Such hugely successful innovators should be healthy to create ways to superior protect children’s privacy, Shenkan said. She then took a swipe at Facebook for hiring a high-powered public-relations firm to near news organizations to write negative stories about privacy issues at Google.
</p>
<p>
 “Instead of spending money to … hire PR firms to try and take down the other company, let’s take that money and spend it on figuring out technological ways that will protect our kids,” she told the subcommittee. “It can’t be 100 people sitting in a Facebook office trying to monitor 600 million conversations.”
</p>
<p>
 Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), who has introduced bipartisan legislation to prevent the misuse of sensitive consumer information, stated that privacy endorsement is not “the enemy of innovation.”
</p>
<p>
 “Companies collecting people’s information, whether you’re a tech titan or not, ought to comply with a basic code of conduct,” Kerry said.
</p>
<p>
 But Taylor warned that new privacy restrictions could squelch Facebook and other social networks.
</p>
<p>
 Facebook tries to protect privacy by letting users select which information they share, he said. But Taylor cautioned that many people want to share their photos and other details of their lives to get the most out of social networks, and Facebook doesn’t want to adopt that all its users want to place a vault around their data.
</p>
<p>
 “We comprehend that trust is a foundation of the social Web. People will stop using Facebook if they lose trust in our services,” he said. “At the same time, overly restrictive policies can interfere with the public’s demand for new and innovative ways to interact.”
</p>
<p>
 But lawmakers stated many people are clamoring for more endorsement of their individualized data, particularly now as more mobile devices can wage detailed information about a person’s whereabouts.
</p>
<p>
 David Vladeck, director of the Federal Trade Commission‘s Agency of Consumer Protection, stated such location data deserved “special protection,” though the bureau has stopped short of calling for legislation.
</p>
<p>
 Google also has stated it collects location data from mobile devices using its Android software. But Google and Apple executives stated they collected the information anonymously and shared it with third-party applications only if the individual agreed.
</p>
<p>
 “Does Apple track the location of my iPhone?” Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) asked, holding up his device.
</p>
<p>
 “We do not, sir,” stated Catherine A. Novelli, Apple’s vice president for worldwide government affairs.
</p>
<p>
 The company never tracked a user’s actual location from the data collected on iPhones and iPads, only the location of nearby cellphone towers and Wi-Fi hot spots, she said.
</p>
<p>
 Apple stated a software glitch caused the location data to be updated even when the individual had chosen not to use location-based services. The bug was fixed in the latest software release, and the data will be encrypted in the next update, Novelli said.</p>

<p> :
</p>
<p>
  You can get lost in the notion of being a small fish in a very massive ocean of investment options. It&#8217;s at this precise point that it becomes crucial for you to adjust your paradigm, or way of thinking, in order to meet the challenges you&#8217;re presented with head on. Think of this mental re-conditioning as a way to trim your sails in the grappling of today&#8217;s financial storms.
</p>
<p>
 To start with, in order to be truly successful, or in other words to emulate the behaviors of truly successful people, there are a few key principles you must comprehend and apply to your regular practices.
</p>
<p>
 The first and most important of these principles is that your life is and will be EXACTLY what you make of it. It sounds over-simplified, I know, but hear me out. The world functions down to the smallest atom on certain unchangeable natural laws. What goes up must come down, objects in motion tend to stay in motion, and so forth. But the most profound of these laws is that of cause and effect, a principle which simply says that a process must be initiated in order to carry itself out to completion. A similar concept which springs forth from cause and effect, and the core of what we&#8217;re speaking about here, is called the law of attraction, or manifestation, or any other study it has been called by. It is simply the force which carries an intent from its initial intent to its final result. What this means to you and I is that whatever intent or attitude we place into being has the full potential to be prefabricated manifest, like a message sent out to the universal order that will, in fact be answered in one manner or another. So getting back to the simple, what we think is what we will become, simply because we have started its creation by thinking of it.
</p>
<p>
 Given this reality, it becomes paramount to discipline our ways of thinking toward the positive and productive. The mind is like a muscle, and flexing it can be difficult at first, but given some time and exercise, positive thought can become second nature. Meditation, or simply making a regular ritual of affirming your goals to yourself can be excellent starting points on this evolution. There are, of course, more advanced steps, however those are bridges you will want to cross when you get to them. My seven step program, referred to at the bottom of this article covers those advanced techniques in detail. Now that we&#8217;ve established the need to affirm your principles of action and individualized goals, let&#8217;s take a look at some of the most important of those principles.
</p>
<p>
 1. Abundance is a Function of Natural Law:
</p>
<p>
 Inherent in nature&#8217;s laws of cause and effect lies the universal truth that abundance is always present in our world, needing only to be claimed by those willing to initiate their own cause, within the boundaries of time tested methods.
</p>
<p>
 2. Net Worth Begins With Self Worth:
</p>
<p>
 In any free market transaction, true value must be demonstrated in order to attain rewards. Therefore, one must create superior worth and directly associate that worth with each action he or she takes. Because all people will inevitably act to their own benefit first and foremost, you must respond in kind by elevating your own value to a level of superior market worth.
</p>
<p>
 3. With Freedom Comes Responsibility:
</p>
<p>
 Having individualized freedom means, above all, that you are given a choice of whether to act as master of your own destiny, or be acted upon haphazardly by those who are looking out for their own ideal interests. In order to be truly prosperous, however, one must be willing to live by true principles. For some it goes without saying, but one of these can easily be summed up by the Golden Rule. Positive goals can never be accomplished with any lasting result through harm or deceit. But the most profound implication of this pillar is that YOU DO have the capability to live abundantly whenever you so choose.
</p>
<p>
 4. Intent Manifests as Reality:
</p>
<p>
 In This principle has been referred to by various scholars and luminaries by such obloquy as &#8220;The Law of Attraction,&#8221; &#8220;The Principle of Manifest Intent,&#8221; and even &#8220;The Power of Prayer.&#8221; It is simply the act of making your will known to the universe, and contributing the necessary effort to bring that will about. Because this principle is so far reaching and powerful, it becomes paramount to discipline one&#8217;s thoughts toward the positive.
</p>
<p>
 5. You are Your Own Ideal Asset:
</p>
<p>
 The fundamental difference between the mindset of a CONSUMER, once termed &#8217;sucker&#8217; by famous American entrepreneur P.T. Barnum, and that of a CREATOR is that a consumer believes material possessions to be the only source of value. Whereas, a creator views human life as the only true source of value. Thus consumers primarily drain the marketplace, while creators primarily add to it.
</p>
<p>
 6. Your Life Has Profound Impact:
</p>
<p>
 Reaching even beyond the infinite value of your own life, you can acquire boundless significance, simply by remembering those whose lives you deeply desire to change for the better. Your loved ones, children, friends, and colleagues will all benefit tremendously from the positive actions YOU take. As Thomas President once so eloquently penned, &#8220;All men [and women] are created equal.&#8221; Realizing this wisdom, it becomes imperative to achieve your duly endowed potential by creating value for yourself and others.
</p>
<p>
 7. Money is Allowed Value by Transactions:
</p>
<p>
 Because the amount of money you make is always directly proportionate to the value that you bring to the table, your value is legitimized by profit. If adequate value is not present, no transaction can possibly be performed. This principle serves to protect and benefit both parties.
</p>
<p>
 8. Success is the New Normal
</p>
<p>
 As Rupert Murdoch, one of America&#8217;s greatest moguls has said, &#8220;The world is changing fast.&#8221; No longer is it normal for prosperity to remain exclusive to the choose few of society&#8217;s elite. One need only watch the evening news to see fast acting and energetic individuals making leaps and bounds each day toward leveling the playing field of American business.
</p>
<p>
 9. The Path of the Herd is NOT Always the Correct Path:
</p>
<p>
 The fact that all of the other dogs are barking up a given tree does not make that tree the right one. Enough said?
</p>
<p>
 10. Ownership Equals Freedom:
</p>
<p>
 True freedom is only doable through independence. As long as one must rely upon an outside source for survival, he or she is not truly free. As Alexander Hamilton said, &#8220;Power over a man&#8217;s subsistence amounts to power of his will.&#8221;

</p>
<p>
 A great child pastime is playing a musical instrument. Practice is, of course, an important a part of learning any musical instrument.
</p>
<p>

They can learn needle arts, for example embroidery, stitching, sewing or even crocheting. Beginning carpentry is an extremely helpful child pastime that could turn into a career or at least capabilities that will be used for an eternity. Tinkering around on gasoline engines or even electronics is yet another kid hobby that might result in helpful abilities.
</p>
<p>
 You will find all sorts of things that kids might like to collect for a pastime. Some of the more prevalent collections tend to be associated with stamps, coins, as well as rocks. Stamps are interesting simply because they can be from many different countries, being a geography lesson. Coins and stamps both are of historical importance, and encourage reading to explore various eras in history. Rock collecting as a child pastime demands considering science publications.
</p>
<p>
 Other collectibles include bean bag playthings or collectible figurines of a certain factor, for example owls, foxes, or unicorns. Anything a young child is interested in can be collected. If a kid is interested in dolphins, for example, she might not only collect dolphin collectible figurines and posters, but also end up being inspired to read books about dolphins.
</p>
<p>
 Construction models additionally make a great activity for children. Many individuals might think of these just as toys, however kids who have grown up with one of these sets and added elements to them down through the years can make some evenhandedly remarkable versions. They will also be gaining capabilities in reasoning and belief as they develop.
</p>
<p>
 If your child is interested in science, this really is another avenue you can discover. Astronomy, physics, and biology can all be enjoyable. If you give your child a children’s telescope, they can start to explore the stars and other nighttime miracles. A easy chemistry set will grant them to start carrying out their very own tests.
</p>
<p>
 Making models, for example cars, motorboats, as well as airplanes, has always been a favourite kid hobby. If your son or daughter has an interest for making models, be really encouraging in the beginning. Model car kits can be very complex and require a great deal of accuracy. If your son or daughter&#8217;s first few creations leave a tiny bit to be desired, don&#8217;t chuckle or scold, or he&#8217;s likely to never want to try to create something again!
